The Virtual Museum blows its first candle !
  Date : October 2, 2006

On October 2, 2005 the website www.IronMenofMetz.new.fr. was born.

One year later, you can read those lines that celebrate one year of research and allotment of information on the 95th Infantry Division. But what does the Virtual Museum hold in the future for you?

Since 2005, the Virtual Museum was essentially like the website of reference for the history of the 95th Infantry Division and of its veterans. It is not without pride that we arrived, thanks to you, with this result.

In one year more than 260 Internet surfers have chosen to register for the Virtual Museum News, and every month we register about ten additional persons.  It is this community which is the strength of the Virtual Museum, and we cannot thank you too much for the continuing confidence that you have shown toward our efforts.  We will strive to always make it better.

In the near future, Virtual Museum will develop a page “The Purple Heart Hall of Honor” in which any member of the 95th Division who received the Purple Heart will be able to register his name. We will develop on the new forum the mutual aid between the users and will propose more current events of the 95th Division Association, more information, and files to you, which will take again the force that must be theirs. 2007 will give place to a major evolution of Virtual Museum.

We remind all of you that it’s imperative that we collect and record the history of the actions of the 95th’s involvement during World War II. As we all are aware, we are losing veterans all too frequently, and in many cases we are losing their stories and the history of the 95th with them. If you have not made a page about yourself, I strongly urge you to contact me.

I wish to thank all of you as we enter the next year to celebrate the second official year of the Virtual Museum of the 95th Infantry Division.
